About me: "Grebo Guru"

Like it says, this is where you can learn a little bit about the Microcorps webmaster -- A.K.A. me.

Me me me me ME!!!
I'm in my thirties. I live in San Francisco. I grew up in New York City. I majored in Film Studies in college. I'm a graphic designer/illustrator/writer. I've worked for, among others, a roleplaying game company and a children's books publisher, and I'm currently employed by a Japanese pop culture company. I am recently single. I like to read, write, draw, swim and ski but don't get to do any of those things as much as I'd like. I speak my mind. If you want to know more I guess you'll have to eMail me.

My handle, "Grebo Guru"
"Grebo Guru" is a song made in the 1980s the now-defunct British band Pop Will Eat Itself. A "grebo" was a kind of grungy punk, often seen in London's seedier clubs. Grebo was the name of my first Cyberpunk character, and PWEI is my favorite band, so there you go.

My action figures habit:
I have spent waaaayyyy too much money on action figures and robot toys, as one can plainly see from looking at this site. However, I'm proud to say that I've paid pretty reasonable prices for just about everything here. Many thanks to Felix at FantAsiaToyz, Image Anime, and the eBay community for saving me a whole lotta bucks! Couldn't have done it without 'em.

My robot mania:
One of the girls I dated managed to sum me up in one sentence. See, I'd given her a set of Magnetic Poetry (TM!), and she used it to compose "MY-MAN-IS-ROBOT-MAD" on her refrigerator. Couldn't be more true, I have to admit. I got into anime because I dig the mecha, I've played a lot of mecha roleplaying games (Mekton Zeta is the alpha and omega of such things), and I've collected a pantsload of robot toys.
