welcomes you to Grebo Guru's WARHAMMER 40,000 area.

Warhammer 40,000

I've never been big on wargaming, but I HAVE always been
big on design -- visual design, particularly with regards to
the human form. Hence my fondness for Japanese robots!

Being so nuts about cool humanoid designs, every once in a while
I buy me a few of Games Workshop's incredibly expensive
(but also incredibly cool) Warhammer 40,000 miniatures. At this point,
I have enough Eldar to actually play a game... So I may as well, eh?

The thing is, only a total putz plays Worty-Forty with unpainted
mini's. The things are designed to be spruced up! So, being the creative
fella that I am, I've finally started painting my Eldar figs. I'm not a
pro by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm fairly happy
with the results I've gotten so far.

Fans of Warhammer 40,000 will say this is a pretty unconventional
color scheme for an Eldar army. I just wanted to explore a less garish,
less psychedelic approach to the Eldar. At first I was thinking I might paint them
all in some camouflage scheme -- the idea of such realistic coloration on such
whimsically-shaped armor appealed to me. However, I couldn't decide on
a single camo pattern I liked. Urban camo? Jungle? Desert?
My favorite option was a kind of "autumn" camo that would be made
of reds... but that would have taken me back to the psychedelic zone.
So, in the end, I opted for the paint scheme you see pictured above.
(Mostly because I love my electric blue Gundam Marker so much!)

Going even further with the unconventional approach I'm taking to this army,
I've mixed in figures which aren't actually Eldar but do look the part.
My "Howling Banshee" pictured above is actually an Incubus from
the Dark Eldar army... but I've never liked the look of the Howling Banshees
so I co-opted this figure to fill the role instead. Hopefully, the unified
paint scheme helps overcome any stylistic differences.

More minis as I finish painting them.
